Hi.
This is Chris Szostek. This site serves as my online portfolio and a bit of a tech toy.
I am an artist of various mediums and am located in the North West Suburbs of Chicago for the time being. I have been freelancing at one level or another for the last 10 years. My main experience has been in the music industry and recently in the skydiving industry. I am a traditional artist in my heart, so many of my designs will start with pen and paper. As for my style, I would recommend looking at the portfolio, it is horribly out of date but still gives a bit of a representation of where my mind is. The styles I work in most are considered to be experimental. Most of my music client's are in the Chicago industrial or club scene, so the work is a bit more gritty and darker. My other clients consist of a folk singer, an insurance company, and a skydiving software developer as well as others.
I began college in 1996, I acquired my Associates degree in fine art in 1999, and received my Bachelors degree in 2002 in multimedia and design. I spent much of my last few years involved in video editing and learning Macromedia Director. Sadly, the later of the two has fallen from the spectrum.
My goals at this moment are to be freelancing full time from a laptop. This will allow me the freedom of working from anywhere in the world at any moment.
I am constantly working and always learning new things. This site is going to be the test bed for many of my new tools and ideas.
In the near future I plan to have either a web comic running or at least a section of daily sketches. As well, I am getting involved with the mobile web movement. Posting pictures of life at the moment the image is taken.
I love technology and what it's potential is for the future.
This section will be edited more often as I have new thoughts. More so, the blog sector will be updated.
